Jake Owen is stepping into the headliner role in 2014 with the Days of Gold tour in support of his album of the same name.
"Oh yeah, I've been waiting a long time to go out and headline," Jake says, "but it's our year to get out and get our feet wet, especially after last record, Barefoot Blue Jean Night, and with the release of the new album, we're excited."
Fans can expect a high-production show inspired by the guys Jake has toured with in the past, including Jason Aldean and Keith Urban. Jake knows heading up a massive touring organization like that takes a lot of skill and strategy.
He explains, "It's like a football team, anyone that wants to win the big game, per se, you gotta know what you're gonna do before you hit the field. You have to have all your players and coaches and crew members and everyone on the same page."
Jake feels he has fostered that kind of camaraderie among his band and crew in the past few years, and they're now ready to take their show to the next level.
Jake adds, "We all want to maintain that same camaraderie, 'cause we all have a common goal, and that's just to continue to get better."
Look for Jake to announce more details on his Days of Gold tour soon.
