Jason Aldean's tour bus struck and killed a pedestrian in Knox County, IN early Monday morning. Knox County Sheriff Michael P. Morris confirms to ABC News Radio Aldean was on board at the time of the crash, but the crash investigation is still underway.
The man, identified as Albert Kennedy of Vincennes, IN, reportedly walked into the path of the bus headed north on US 41 just outside of Vincennes. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Aldean's rep also confirmed the news.
Jason posted a statement about the accident on his social media accounts saying, "With a heavy heart, I'm sad to say that a man passed away last night after stepping out in front of my bus in Indiana. In all the years I've been touring and all the miles we've driven, nothing prepares you for something like this to happen. I'm praying for Albert Kennedy's family and friends today and ask that you do the same.”
Aldean was forced to cancel a show in Dallas Saturday night due to inclement weather. It is not clear why he was in Indiana Sunday night. We'll keep you posted as this story develops.
