While Kelly Clarkson is thrilled about being pregnant, she's finding that the side effects are less desirable.
Appearing on NBC's Today show on Tuesday morning, Kelly told Savannah Guthrie, "I don't know why they call it morning sickness because it's like all day and all night. I am super-excited about being pregnant. I'm just looking forward to the second trimester. They say it's better."
Kelly added that taping her upcoming NBC Christmas special wasn't easy while being "pregnant and sick."
Kelly also said that she'd been "dying to tell people" that she and husband Brandon Blackstock were expecting. Though they wanted to wait, they ended up spilling the beans before the end of her first trimester. "Everybody kept talking about it and I had to cancel something because I've been so ill," she explained. "I didn't want people to think that I'm canceling because I'm lazy or something. So, we just told people."
The singer also reiterated her belief that she's having a girl, even though it's "way too early to know." Kelly joked that "she" — the baby — is "killing" her, laughing, "Of course it's a girl, causing the trouble!"
Kelly revealed that she and Brandon already have a name picked out, for both a girl and a boy. But that's something that the couple won't reveal, simply because, as Kelly says, "I don't want someone to steal my baby's name."
