Garth Brooks Racks Up Big Sales Numbers with Blame It All on My Roots

Garth Brooks bows at #3 on the Billboard 200 chart with his multi-disc set Blame It All on My Roots, available only through Walmart. According to Nielsen Soundscan, the six-CD, two-DVD release moved 164,000 copies in just four days — since it went on sale Thanksgiving Day and the new sales tracking week closed on Sunday. Blame It All on My Roots is Garth's 13th #1 on Billboard's Country Albums chart, too. The collection features four discs of Garth singing new versions of the songs that influenced him over the years.

This isn't the first time Garth has racked up big sales on a box set. His 1998 release The Limited Series, a six-CD box set of his previously released albums, bowed at #1 on the Billboard 200 in 1998. His latest release, 2007's The Ultimate Hits, debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200.
