Miranda Lambert was literally more than a mile high at the Deer Valley Resort in Utah Friday night when she got the news about her Grammy nomination. She's up for Best Country Solo Performance for "Mama's Broken Heart." Her husband, Blake Shelton, is also up for that trophy, for his song "Mine Would Be You."
"I'm so thrilled to have a Grammy nomination with such a great song," Miranda says. "'Mama's Broken Heart' is one of my favorite songs I have recorded. It's also unique to be in the same category with my very talented husband. I am proud to be part of the wonderful country music family!”
The 56th Annual Grammy Awards broadcast live from Los Angeles Sunday, January 26 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
Miranda was entertaining the crowd Friday at the 22nd Annual Deer Valley Celebrity Skifest Friday in Utah. That event pairs Olympic skiers with celebrities to raise money for the Waterkeeper Alliance in their work to preserve and protect water from polluters.
